UPDATE — NOV. 4, 2020 — The bridge opening ceremony has been postponed. The new date is TBA later.
The dedication/opening ceremony for the Poindexter Street Bridge will be held Friday, Nov 6 at 10 a.m., in the grass field to the right of the bridge approach at Poindexter and Liberty, city officials announced today.
“There will be no seating or staging,” said Jason J. Brown, Public Information Coordinator with the City of Chesapeake Public Works. ” We will have a podium available for Mayor West to offer brief remarks to the group,” he said, inviting everyone in the community who may want to attend.
“This will be a short affair, but one we nonetheless wanted to bring South Norfolk together and celebrate the completion of an important project,” Brown said in an email.
